A collapsible section lets you tuck longer content behind a "Read more" style button so readers see a short summary first and expand the full text only when they want it. It keeps pages clean, reduces scrolling, and makes long policies far easier to digest.
When to use a collapsible section
Here are the three most common ways our clients use it:
1. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
List each question as the visible text and hide the answer inside the collapsible section. Employees scan the questions quickly and only open the ones they need.
2. Long content such as benefits information
Show a short summary of each topic up front and keep the full details inside the collapsible section. Readers expand only what applies to them, and they always know where to find the rest later.
3. Lengthy policies
Privacy, acceptable use, and other legal-heavy policies become much more approachable when the key points are visible and the fine print sits one click away.
Tip: Use collapsible sections to reduce clutter, not to hide important information. If something is required reading, keep it in the visible text.
How to add a collapsible section
1. Add a new page
In the AirMason editor, add a new page using any of our templates.
2. Enter the text that should always be visible
Replace or insert your text in the upper text box. This is the part every reader sees before they expand anything.
3. Click "Add collapsible section"
Click the + button below your text box and choose "Add collapsible section". This adds a second text area that can be expanded and collapsed.
4. Add the text to hide
Under the dotted line, add the content you want tucked away. Everything in this box stays hidden until the reader clicks to expand it.
5. Customize the button (optional)
Click the Page Style icon (the pencil) in the toolbar on the right-hand side of the editor. This opens the Details panel on the left.
Expand Collapsible Section in the Details panel. Here you can set the button color, the button hover color, and the button name. Choose from Read More/Less, Learn More/Less, Show More/Less, or Expand/Collapse, or select "Add custom button" to write your own, for example "View full policy".
6. Preview it
To see how it looks live, open Preview mode by following these instructions. That's it! Your page is shorter, cleaner, and more interactive.
