Accessibility features in AirMason's handbooks

In this article, you'll learn how to use the accessibility features in AirMason's handbooks.

Step 1: Look for the Accessibility Features icon on the right side of the page.

Step 2: Open the Accessibility Menu by clicking on the icon or pressing Control + U.

Step 3: From the menu, you're able to:

- Select your preferred language

- Select Pre Built Accessibility Profiles

- Adjust the size of the widget and the text

- Choose from a variety of accessibility features such as

  • Screen Reader: Reads page content aloud for visually impaired users, adjustable speed/pitch.

  • Contrast + Toggle: Adjusts color contrast for better readability for low-vision users.

  • Smart Contrast: Auto-optimizes colors to meet WCAG compliance for accessibility.

  • Highlight Links: Emphasizes links/buttons with high-contrast colors for easier navigation.

  • Bigger Text in Various Sizes: Increases text size up to 4x for improved legibility.

  • Text Spacing: Widens letter/word spacing to aid dyslexic or visually impaired users.

  • Pause Animations: Stops animations to reduce distractions or seizure risks.

  • Hide Images: Removes images for text-only browsing, reducing visual clutter.

  • Dyslexia Friendly Fonts: Uses distinct fonts to enhance readability for dyslexic users.

  • Modified Cursor: Offers big cursor, reading mask, or guide for navigation/readingease.

  • Tooltips: Shows alt text/ARIA labels on hover for added context.

  • Page Structure Outline: Displays navigable outline of headings, landmarks, and links.

  • Line Height: Increases line spacing for better text readability.

  • Text Align: Aligns text (left, right, center, justify) for user preference.

  • Dictionary: Provides in-page word definitions for comprehension.

  • Saturation: Adjusts color intensity for color-blind or low-vision users.

Step 5: If you wish, reset all these settings or move the widget to the left or right side of the page. You also have the option to hide the widget.
