Your Complete Guide to Adding Links
Links bring your content to life by connecting employees to the right information at the right moment. Whether you're directing them to a website, another AirMason document, or a specific section on the same page, this guide walks you through all three types of links in one place.
External Links
Use external links to send employees to websites outside of AirMason.
Step 1: Highlight the text that should become a link.
Step 2: Click on More in the top left of the toolbar.
Step 3: Click the Add Link button (the chain icon).
Step 4: To create a web link, enter your URL in the provided field.
Step 5: Check "Open in a new tab" if you'd like the link to launch in a separate window.
Step 6: Click Apply.
Document-to-Document Links
Use document-to-document links to send employees to another handbook or document in your AirMason library.
Step 1: To link to a document, highlight your text.
Step 2: Click the link button.
Step 3: Click on the Document tab.
Step 4: Choose your document from the list. (Note: the handbook must be published for the link to preview, though you can still create the link beforehand.)
Step 5: Optionally, select a specific page within that document.
Step 6: Choose whether the link should open in a new tab, then click Apply.
Anchor Links
Anchor links let readers jump to a specific section within the same document. They're perfect for long documents where you want to guide employees straight to the right spot.
β
Step 1: Scroll to the section where you want to place the anchor.
Step 2: Click the Add Anchor button.
Step 3: Enter an anchor ID (this identifies the anchor).
Step 4: Decide whether to show this anchor in the Table of Contents, and choose how it should display (as a header or under a specific section).
Step 5: Click Create Anchor.
Step 6: Scroll back to where you want to add the anchor link, highlight your link text, and click the Link tab.
Step 7: Select Anchor and find your anchor from the dropdown list or use the search bar.
Step 8: Optionally, set the anchor link to open in a new tab.
Step 9: Click Apply.
That's it! With these three types of links in your toolkit, you can keep employees engaged and guide them exactly where they need to go, inside your handbook or across the web.
